Next Week’s Message: Love is not Self Seeking ~ 1 Corinthians 13:5b
Next Week’s Message:
Love is not Self Seeking ~
1 Corinthians 13:5b
Love gets people’s attention for one simple reason: It’s different; it sticks
out in the crowd. When the crowd is cruel, love is kind. If the crowded is
jealous, love is gently trusting.
The crowds envy highlights love’s eagerness to trust that God knows what is best. An arrogant crowd clamors forattention, while love is looking to shine the spotlight on someone else. Thecrowd forgets that manners matter. Love opens the door and leads the way with “please” and “thank you.”
When Paul writes “love is not self seeking”, he lifts love yet another notch higher. Bluntly speaking what Paul says is that love is not selfish. Next week’s message will focus on that truth.
