Dear Precious Saints of MBC,
I trust you are doing well and looking forward to this coming Lord's Day.
Almost everyone remembers their first car. I know I do - a VW Fastback. To some, your first car may have been an old junker, but to you it was a rite of passage-and one sweet ride. However, a year or so later that feeling wore off. What had been a new, exciting thing became ordinary.
That's similar to what happens to a lot of Christians. When we get saved we can't get enough of the Savior. Oh, how we love Him. We devour the Word and we want everyone to know about Him.
Over time our new love wore off. Our prayers became stale and studying the Word became unimportant.
But Jesus never changed. We are the ones that changed. Our love likely cooled because of sin in our life, being distracted, or plain old busyness. Satan knows where to tempt us.
The good thing is that Jesus longs for our fellowship. He wants to spend time with us! He wants us to repent of all sins that are keeping us at a distance from Him.
When we turn from our sin, our love will be rekindled and once again it will be a joy to commune with Him in prayer and sit at His feet, reading His Word.
See you this Sunday,
In the light of His glory and grace,
