Easter Sunday 2018
Dear Friends, Thank you so much for being with us on this Easter Sunday 2018! Jesus said of His church that the gates of hell would not prevail against it (Matthew 16:18). How is that possible? It’s possible because the church does not depend on mortal men. It is built on the word and promise of Jesus Christ who is the Living One, who was dead and is now alive forevermore, who holds the keys of death and Hades in His hand. The hymn writer is correct when he wrote: Death cannot keep its prey, Jesus my Savior. He tore the bars away, Jesus my Lord. Up from the grave He arose, With a mighty triumph o’er His foes. He arose a victor from the dark domain And He lives forever with His saints to reign. He arose, He arose, Hallelujah, Christ Arose. Death was defeated when Jesus rose from the dead, and one day death will be no more. That is our assurance. That is our hope. Death cannot win in the end. Death has been defeated. And the day is coming when death itself will be cast into the lake of fire (Revelation 20:14). That’s the message of Easter! We’re thrilled you are with us to celebrate. In the light of His glory and grace, Pastor Doug
