Dear Precious Saints of MBC,
I trust you are doing well and looking forward to this coming Lord's Day.
Connie and I are in New Jersey for Connie's 50 year class reunion from High School. During our time here we visited Ocean City, where Connie spent many summers during her growing up years and later worked at a motel as a maid. Visiting the beach is always important to Connie and was also among our children's favorite vacations.
On the boardwalk are benches with plaques placed in memory of people. It was fun to read the tributes. One read:
Mom, you are back at your favorite spot
the 14th Street Beach.
Renee Press 1922 - 1993
I'm assuming that Renee's cremated remains were scattered on the 14th Street Beach.
Interestingly, on the same bench was a second plaque that read:
Dad, she finally got you to the beach!
Harry Press 1920 - 2001
Obviously, the beach was not among Harry's favorite places to visit.
An application of this story is simple: As a couple do things together while you can.
Connie and I look forward to being back with you next Sunday.
