Reformation Sunday ~ John Huss

One hundred years before the reformation, led by Martin Luther a godly man named John Huss was preaching the gospel and calling the church to change. He would be condemned to die a martyr’s death for his faith and labeled a heretic by the organized church.

Later, Martin Luther, rummaging through the stacks of a library, happened upon a volume of sermons preached by this early reformer. Luther would write, "I was overwhelmed with astonishment. I could not understand for what cause they had burnt so great a man, who explained the Scriptures with so much gravity and skill." Next Sunday is Reformation Sunday and we will look at the early reformers life.
